Now rebranded as Rutland Optometry, the store is under the ownership of Dr. She purchased the business in 1995 in its original location on Rutland Road and later relocated to the Willow Park Shopping Centre. Bobbi Story was the owner of Rutland Optical for over 25 years. Lauren Fauchon Kinesiologist, Melissa Brunn and RMT’s Heather Narraway, Takhir Almazbakov and Kalli Betemps. Other members of the clinic are Chiropractor Dr. Col wanted to create a space where people could come and receive a more well-rounded approach to their healthcare and where they can not only get one on one treatments but also have the options of group classes and workshops that just add to their experience. The vision of Move RX is to create a way to help people move better, feel better and perform better to get them back to doing what they love. Focusing on fundamental and foundational movement, Move RX, which stands for Move as Prescribed, is a healthcare clinic that does things differently. She also is an Olympic-style weightlifter who competed at Nationals and is a university-level soccer player. Col is a chiropractor, founder and clinical director of the business. Chris Col DC, BKin and Coach is the owner of Move RX Performance and Wellness located at #200 – 3275 Lakeshore Road. The shop has parking in the back of the shop at Roxby Place on Roxby Road, offering both a front and back entrance. Model Bean offers baking and treats, some of which are traditional recipes from Columbia with tropical flavours made by the family in a commercial kitchen here in Kelowna. You can also purchase the coffee by the pound to take home and enjoy. The coffee has a distinctive taste that South American coffee is known for and is 100% certified Columbian coffee. The beans are ethically sourced from their family farm in the hills of Columbia passed down through generations. The coffee house offers a good variety of high-quality specialty coffees, and if you are not a coffee drinker, you can try one of their sparkling flavoured lemonades. Owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Camilo Osaza and Diana Torres, the coffee house is bright and cheery with large colourful murals of Camilo’s family coffee bean farm in Columbia. Before opening Casa Modelo, Carolina was with The Carousel Collective in Summerland. Carolina works repurposing older pottery, experimenting with paper mache and offers home styling and design services to her clients. The 1,200 square foot shop is chock-full of 60’s and 70’s glassware, sculptures, lamps, chairs, coffee tables, rugs, some large furniture pieces, a good variety of marble and stone pieces, pottery, art, bags from Africa, and jewellery made by her daughter, Siena Topor, under the name of Pretty Little Things. It’s sustainable home décor to help keep items out of landfills and give them a new life. She also sources from around the Okanagan and beyond, prepping, washing, and cleaning all the items and has found that most pieces were made of higher quality in previous eras. Carolina curates unique and special high-end vintage home décor pieces from around the globe. It is a purposeful, sustainable, vintage, modern home décor shop. Casa de Frida is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.Ĭertified Interior Decorator, Carolina Valdes has opened Casa Modelo Studio at 1492 St. The meal was absolutely delicious and did not take away from their Mexican heritage, but certainly had an elevated presentation and taste. With other guests, we sampled ceviche cups, flautas, shrimp aguachile, carnitas tacos, beef asada tacos, caramelized salmon with mashed potatoes, and of course, churros with ice cream and caramel sauce. This includes appetizers, salads, soups, tacos, fajitas, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, tortas, and many main courses along with desserts. Chef Arturo Abundis, also from Mexico has created a Mexican menu that can be described as elevated authentic Mexican fusion. ![]() You will be able to read about the entire heritage at Casa de Frida. It was built in 1906 and moved from Bernard Avenue in 1949 by well-known local Ernie Winter. ![]() Luis and Oana are very proud of the heritage that comes with the Yellow House. Luis and Oana relocated to Kelowna from Mexico just a few months ago, where they also had restaurants and are very versed in their industry. Owned and operated by partners, husband and wife team Luis Silva and Oana Patru and Antonio Ortega, (Two Brothers in West Kelowna), the restaurant has been renovated in a beautiful Mexican style with 50 seats inside and a large patio that seats about 70. New Mexican restaurant, Casa de Frida (House of Freda) has opened at 526 Lawrence Avenue, at The Yellow House, as some of you might have known it for many years. ![]()
